A hand grips a mighty looking chicken burger.

Prepare yourselves chook fans because the Auckland Fried Chicken Festival has a new post-lockdown date. That's right, Auckland’s finest food trucks are preparing to bring you their best fried chicken-inspired dishes for an entire day so block Saturday 13 November 2021 out in your diary.

Much to our delight, the festival will be even bigger and better this year, taking over BOTH levels of the iconic waterfront venue Shed 10 with ALL fried chicken dishes costing under $10. Score. There will be two sessions this year 12-4pm and 5-9pm so you can make the most of your time at this foodie fest.

This year there'll be an international theme with vendors slinging fried chicken inspired by world flavours. Fire up your taste buds with the Jamaican-inspired Gracefully Jerked, Temaki Truck will be dishing up their famous Japanese kara-age chicken, get your New Orleans inspired fix with fried chicken and waffles from Morepork BBQ and get a flavour of the Philippines with Manila Eats to name but a few.

Everyone knows you can't have a good feed without dessert, so head to Pie Piper for American inspired desserts and donuts, or if you've smashed something spicy, cool down those taste buds with a real fruit ice cream from Ice Cream Social.

To whet your whistle head to the festival bars where Behemoth will be serving up their Fried Chicken Festival exclusive hazy pale ale 'Deep Fried Goodness', you'll also get to peruse a selection of wines from none other than The Hunting Lodge, indulge in popular flavours of the iconic Pals range—including their new 0%, hype up with some Red Bull or mellow with a selection of Karma Drinks.

No need to mill about trying to nab a table, now you'll be able to take your food and drink and head upstairs to enjoy a variety of live music from Lee Gray and ‘Mischief’ 5 piece band. The popular hangman challenge (hang for 100 seconds and win $50) is back this year and there'll be a Dr Rudi's games zone with vouchers to be won and redeemed at their iconic rooftop bar on Auckland’s waterfront after the festival closes.

You'll be able to grab tickets at the door on the day for $20 or nab a ticket online for $15. So grab your fried chicken fiends and we'll see you there.
