Wise Boys Burgers

Vegan burgers you can order from as early as 11am? That's what we call a hangover hat trick. Enter the legends at Wise Boys, whose Commercial Bay store is taking care of your fragile condition with stacked, plant-based sandos like their best-selling Dirty Boy. Slap on some tater tots, onion rings or loaded fries, and you have a cure for literally any ill.
Times Of India
21 Graham Street , Auckland CBD, Auckland

Nothing hits the spot after a night out quite like a curry and thanks to delivery services like Uber Eats, you can get your hands around a bowl takeout container of Auckland's absolute best from CBD great, Times of India. Their classic butter chicken is hangover fare personified (especially when paired with a housemade garlic naan), but don't overlook the chicken biryani aka their top-seller on the platform. Chuck in some deep-fried samosas or sticky honey-chilli chicken wings for good measure. Available from midday on weekdays and from 5pm on Saturdays (perfect for if you've hit snooze most of the day).
Deli Di Bossi
1/10 Commerce Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland

Everyone knows that carbs are a hangover's best friend. And thanks to Uber Eats and DoorDash, you can carb-load to your heart's content with fresh or toasted sammies stacked with deli meats, cheese, and other mouthwatering goodies from Deli Di Bossi—the super tasty little sister to Auckland's beloved Italian restaurant, BOSSI. We personally love the Formaggio grilled cheese with a freshly squeezed fruit juice (and perhaps some cannoli) on the side, which can be ordered from 8am onward.
Petra Shawarma
482 New North Road, Kingsland, Auckland

Kebabs are on par with curry when it comes to peak hangover cuisine, which is where this mouthwatering spot comes in. Wrap your hands around their juicy 12-inch Jordanian shawarma stuffed with housemade falafel, mixed grilled meat and other wholesome goodies (along with an obligatory serving of fries) for a feed so filling, it could almost carry you through to your next night out. Add on some baklava if you're craving something sweet.
Toto Pizza
5 Hardinge Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland

Tank those post-bevvy feels with a half-metre pizza from the legends at Toto Pizza. Choose from a dozen crispy-crust options including the spicy Diavola from as early as 11am, and for as little as $48 (not bad, especially if you're splitting the cost with the flatties). Slap on some truffle salt fries if you really wanna push the boat out. Gluten-free and vegan pizzas are also available, hallelujah!
EGG'D
Auckland-Wide

We love a Macca's Bacon Egg Mcmuffin as much as the next person (especially after a night out), but if you're looking for something a little bigger and a helluva lot more likely to sort out that sore head of yours, hook yourself up with a delivery from EGG'D. They're slinging buns piled high with all the post-hangover essentials: bacon, cheese, whole hash browns and of course, fluffy or fried free-range eggs. Heaven in a takeout box.
Richoux Patisserie
119 Main Highway, Ellerslie, Auckland

A post night out pie is a Kiwi rite-of-passage. And if there's any pie we wanna be consoling ourselves with the morning after a drinking sesh, it's one from this acclaimed bakery in Ellerslie which opens its delivery service doors from 7:30am, every day. Their chicken, cranberry and camembert—caramelised pork—and wagyu beef with mac and cheese creations will all do the job nicely; or if you're a plant-eater, their award-winning vegan cheeseburger pie. Do yourself a favour and grab some other treats to go with (hot cross buns, also award-winning, if it's Easter).
Mr Taco
75C Victoria Street West, Auckland CBD, Auckland

Yes, we realise that the thought of some Mexican (read: tequila) may cause you to recoil right now, but that shouldn't apply to a big, juicy, meat-filled taco. Or a burrito. Or a quesadilla. And the city's home of bonafide Mexican is here to fulfil your appetite for all three, from 10:30am weekdays and midday on the weekend via Uber Eats and DoorDash. We typically like to console ourselves with their classic carnitas tacos, but you can also get those filled with jackfruit and even cactus (all sold in a gluttonous three-pack).
Sneaky Snacky
184 Karangahape Road, Auckland

And finally, if you want a burger of the non-vegan kind, there's nothing that fits the bill better than Sneaky Snacky (famous for their use of glazed doughnuts as burger buns). These meaty burgs stuffed with bulgogi, fried chicken and other mouthwatering fillings are a surefire way to blast away those morning-after cobwebs, especially when paired with some of their equally famous ramen or hot chicken wings. It sounds like exactly what the doctor ordered.
