Ben & Jerry's have launched what could potentially be the world's largest-ever virtual Easter egg hunt—with 10,000 free scoops of cream thrown into the mix, no less—and you're invited. Now if you're wondering what the heck a virtual Easter egg hunt is or more importantly, how you can get involved—here's the scoop.
The ice cream legends have buddied up with digital platform, BlockV to run this unusual yet clever twist on the classic Easter egg hunt, which you can register for here. A bit like Pokemon Go, the platform works by transforming fixed objects into virtual ice creams—aka eggs—that you must 'catch' using your smartphone. Once caught, these bad boys (known in tech-speak as vatoms) can be cashed in for physical scoops of Ben & Jerry's goodness. And because these vatoms are hidden close to Ben & Jerry's Scoop Stores throughout the country (with 10,000 of them up for grabs), the time between finding one and stuffing your face with some of the finest ice cream known to man could be mere MINUTES.
In the unlikely case you need extra incentive, how about this: by taking part, you could also be making history—because Ben & Jerry's is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the largest-ever virtual Easter egg hunt with their efforts (Australia is also joining the party with an additional 40,000 free scoops of ice cream).
So what are you waiting for? Grab your basket—erm, phone—and get hunting!
