Venue Veterans is a brand new gig series that'll see iconic New Zealand musicians returning to the venue that ignited their career. A collab between Tiger and muzo, Dan Woolston, the series was inspired by the desire to give our local live music scene a boost, and take fans along for a ride through local music history.
Launching the series is David Dallas who'll return to Karangahape-adjacent Galatos next week on 26 September marking 20 years since he first played there. Entry is on a first-come-first-served basis, via koha donation (all of which will be donated to Galatos in a nod to where it all began). Doors open at 7pm. RSVP here.
We caught up with David Dallas ahead of his performance.

The Good Life According to David Dallas
Good health for the people I care about + money in the bank + peace of mind.
Fave Breakfast
Sausage & Eggs w/ side of mushrooms from Dizengoff. Or their porridge with poached fruit. Been ordering for over a decade and it’s never failed me.

Fave Other Meals To Feast On
Khao Man Gai Yang from Good Ol' Days Kitchen, chicken katsu sandwich from Mizu, Cacio e pepe from Pici, fish sliders and the lamb ribs at Depot, Metita's pork hock, scampi spaghetti at Candy Shop, spicy beef noodle soup from Eden Noodles, and everything at Spicy House.
Fave Drinks Spot
For cocktails etc. I like Bar Magda. If it's just a night gettin' on it with mates we seem to always end up at Acho's.
