Perth’s Best Airbnbs Less Than Two Hours Away From Home (2026 Edition)

If you’ve ever driven down to Albany or Bremer Bay, chances are you’ve driven through this gem of a town. York, WA’s oldest inland town, is the home of historical buildings and this cosy cottage Sunny Hill, a heritage-listed home sat at the very top of a hill, overlooking beautiful Mount Brown. Your stay will be surrounded by a half an acre of colourful gardens, where you can see the owner’s vision of marrying native and traditional country plantings. 

This three-bedder is located a convenient 90 minutes south of the city, and if you’ve never had the chance to explore York, you’re in for a real treat. It’s home to rewarding bush walks, vintage shops, beautiful buildings and classic old pubs. This quiet and cozy space is the perfect spot to enjoy some fresh country air, right on the border of WA’s wheatbelt.

Our next stay, only an hour from Perth, has just opened just this past week. A truly luxurious experience created for two, this one is designed for those looking to settle in, slow down and experience the quiet of the Chittering valley. Guests can expect a special little welcome basket, filled with curated goodness - local wine, farm-fresh eggs, local honey and bread. The retreat-style space includes a sauna, heated and cooled plunge pool, roaring meg fireplace and outdoor bath. 

You can expect to live out your farm-girl dreams, just steps from your chalet you can say hello to the highland cows, donkeys and alpacas. This spot is even a perfect way for you to explore all the Chittering valley has to offer. Walking trails and wineries are scattered nearby, and some of my personal favourites include the Stringybark Winery and Nesci Estate Wine Farm. This farm stay is the perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. 

Just shy of 50 minutes north of the city is this one-of-a-kind earth castle retreat. Located in the town of Bullsbrook, this home really packs in a bit of street cred with its very own feature on Grand Designs. Its location centres itself between native bushland, rolling hills, grazing horses, wildlife and paddocks. For the families looking for the ultimate nature sanctuary, this one is for you. 

The unique stay is the sort of thing you’ll want to gather a few family members for. A total of ten guests can be housed within the four guest suites, and there is a huge commercial kitchen for those big dinner feasts. An expansive alfresco area, fire-pit and living room (with four couches) will fit the whole extended fam. And my favourite part of all, there's a sauna! A retreat made for slowing down, reconnecting and enjoying what you’ve been missing out on in nature.

This off-the-grid home is calling for those who literally want to go off the grid, meaning no wi-fi and definitely no TV. Just an hour north of the city is this tiny home situated on 50 acres in the small town of Bindoon. And whilst advertised as a tiny home, it is surprisingly roomy with two queen beds, a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom. 

You can even experience what it's like living on a real working farm, where the owners welcome guests to meander around the property and mingle with their horses, cows and sheep. A child's total dream. Their off-grid set-up is powered by solar and battery, they collect and store rainwater and they even have a composting toilet. 

And just because they’ve established a switch-off sort of zone, that doesn’t mean they’ve left you totally hanging. At the home you can expect to find a cosy fire-pit, books, boardgames and a bluetooth speaker. But if you do happen to fall short of supplies or entertainment, Bindoon village is just a short four kilometers away. And a quick insider tip, the Bindoon Bakery is notorious for its vanilla slice. 

This small but mighty oasis features two comfortable double beds, and provides guests with sweeping views of Bridgetown’s beautiful valley/farm region. The hosts are proper animal lovers and more than encourage their guests to bring along their furry friends. They’ve got all of your doggie-essentials covered; food/water bowls, a fully-fenced property and some extra special treats on arrival. 

Besides the picturesque landscape, the property has some pretty awesome features. For those looking for the ultimate wind-down retreat, your own private yoga and sauna space is available at your door step. The camp-fire also provides a great backdrop for an evening wine and dinner. 

The fan-favourite spot is located a convenient five minute drive from Bridgetown. Also affectionately known as ‘fridgetown’ due to it being one of WA’s coldest spots. You can bring your pooch and explore the town’s historic buildings, eateries and picnic spots. P.s the bathroom has heated flooring!

Right in the heart of Carlotta is this eco-friendly retreat featuring a spring-fed swimming hole, eight-metre jetty and rope swing. A complete family dream. A home suitable for six adults and three kids, this is suitable for those outdoorsy families looking for a Perth getaway. Pets are definitely allowed here, and they even have a secure enclosure outside for those four-legged friends.

Carlotta is located just about ten minutes outside of the quaint town of Nannup. And Nannup really is just as cute as it sounds. This south-west region is home to some of our best restaurants, wineries and activities. Guests can venture out to the Wine and Truffle Company, Nannup lavender Farm and the local mini golf course. Whilst only a small town, it packs well-above its weight in things to see and do. A total oasis, this one is suited to those who simply can’t sit still on holiday. And if you’re any handy in the kitchen, the outdoor area is home to a pretty sweet pizza oven. 

Timpano's Farm has jumped to the top of our WA wishlist for a couple of solid reasons. Firstly, Coolup is just a short hour from Perth and 20 minutes from leafy, charming Dwellingup making it the ultimate option for those short on time who still want to escape the city without the winding roadtrip.

Secondly, it doesn't get much cosier when it comes to a winter stay. Both the OG Rocky's Cabin and new kid on the block, Zak's Cabin, offer up outdoor fire pits, immaculate modern living and bedrooms, stunner farm views and outrageously cool outdoor entertaining areas (just take a look at the pics) as well as a ton of bonus extras if you've got young ones in tow to keep them busy. Trust us, you'll be completely recharged after a stay here. We sure were.

Perched at the top of a valley looking down on your private dams and fruit orchards (which yes, you can pick yourself when in season), this immaculately renovated 1940s pet-friendly farmhouse is easily one of the southwest’s most luxurious farm stays.

Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, this Kirup dream home less than 2.5 hours drive from Perth comes with everything from a roaring fireplace for the cooler months, to luxury linens, a full country kitchen straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie to a clawfoot bathtub and furry friends to welcome you upon arrival.
