This Two-Story Wellness Precinct Boasts A 50,000 Litre Ice Pool & Hot Magnesium Pool
A brand-new wellness precinct, where Roman bathhouse-inspired design meets Fremantle heritage charm, is set to breathe new life into the historic Royal George. The expansive new space marks Alchemy Saunas' most ambitious opening to date, transforming the landmark building into a bona fide wellness destination.
"The vision was simple: Roman bathhouse meets Alchemy Saunas," says co-founder and managing director James Browne.

At the heart of the redevelopment sits a 50,000-litre ice pool alongside a hot magnesium bathing pool, creating a striking centrepiece beneath the heritage-listed structure. Think exposed brick and limestone, oversized archways and softly diffused light dancing across the water. Surrounding the pools are three traditional saunas, a steam room and ice showers, all designed to encourage guests to move between heat and cold therapies at their own pace.
The multi-million-dollar development spans two storeys and positions itself somewhere between wellness retreat and social hub. While the contrast therapy facilities are undoubtedly the drawcard, like all Alchemy venues, the experience has been designed with connection in mind, encouraging guests to slow down, switch off and spend a little time together.

Interest in the venue has already proven enormous, with memberships selling out ahead of opening. Fortunately, casual drop-in sessions will still be available, allowing visitors to experience the facilities without committing to a membership.
Alchemy Saunas East Fremantle opens on Saturday 27 June, ushering in a new era for one of Fremantle's most recognisable buildings.
