Perth’s hotel scene is going from strength to strength, with luxury hotel chain Anantara landing in Australia for the very first time via a five-star hotel at the ongoing Burswood Point development.

The Anantara brand is best known to Australians for its Thai-inspired luxury resorts in Uluwatu and Ubud, as well as Phuket and Koh Samui — and now it’s set to bring its signature wellness-led approach to the Perth market.

Set to open in 2032, the hotel will occupy a prime riverfront position just 3.5km from the CBD. Plans include 150 guest rooms and suites, two destination restaurants, a swimming pool, fitness centre and a signature Anantara Spa — introducing the brand’s elevated, wellness-forward offering to Perth.

With close proximity to Optus Stadium, Crown Perth and Perth Airport, it’s expected to become a major tourism drawcard.

The hotel will anchor the broader Burswood Point development — a $3.8 billion, 38-hectare precinct and one of Australia’s largest urban redevelopment projects in recent years. The masterplan spans 15 buildings across residential, retail, commercial and hospitality uses, with approximately 4,500 new homes to be delivered over the next two decades.

A National First For The Brand

This marks Anantara’s Australian debut. The brand forms part of Minor Hotels’ global portfolio of more than 640 properties.

Golden Sedayu Managing Director Andrew Sugiaputra said the partnership reflects growing confidence in the project’s scale, location and international appeal.

“We are proud to partner with Minor Hotels to bring Anantara to Australia, and to have Burswood Point selected as the location for its debut,” he said.
