What Will The Weather In Perth Be Like Over ANZAC Day 2026?

Will it pour, or will it pull itself together? The answer to the age-old long weekend question has the power to derail our Anzac Day plans and Dawn Service alarms alike, with the forecast wobbling just enough to make us second-guess our outfit choices and umbrella commitments.

In its typically autumn mood-swing era, Perth’s been changing its mind by the day. One day it’s umbrellas up, skies grey and we’re bracing through the coldest morning of 2026 so far. The next, it’s hovering around the mid-20s with barely a cloud in sight.

This weekend though, the shift finally lands in our favour. After a rather soggy lead-up across Thursday and Friday, the weather turns it on right when it counts, just in time for Anzac Day itself.

Perth’s ANZAC Weekend Weather Forecast

A bit of a mixed bag, but one that ultimately lands in our favour. Where we currently stand, it’s looking like a wet-ish lead-in, a sunny middle, and a soft return to showers as the long weekend winds down. Keep your umbrellas on standby—they’ll get a workout on Thursday—but with a little luck you’ll be able to retire them over the weekend.

  • Friday, April 24: Possible shower. High around 21°C, low near 13°C. A mostly grey day with the odd light shower drifting through, more of a nuisance than a washout.
  • Saturday, April 25 (Anzac Day): Sunny. High around 24°C, low near 10°C. A crisp, chilly start for dawn services, giving way to clear skies and a bright, settled afternoon.
  • Sunday, April 26: Mostly sunny. Highs around 28°C, lows about 12°C. Warm, calm and easily the pick of the long weekend, made for long lunches and stretching things out.
  • Monday, April 27: Showers. High around 21°C, low near 15°C. Clouds creep back in with a few passing showers, rounding things out on a softer, slightly soggy note.

Winds follow the usual autumn rhythm—light and manageable in the mornings before sea breezes pick up later in the day, particularly along the coast.

What Past Years Tell Us

Recent Anzac Days have proven one thing: variability is the only constant. Nationally, 2025 swung from heavy rain and storms on the east coast to crisp, chilly dawn services in WA, with conditions shifting sharply by location and timing.

Perth, as usual, tends to sit on the quieter side of those national swings. We’re more likely to get temperature drops and cold mornings than anything extreme.

What’s most reliable is the rhythm rather than the exact conditions: cool starts, mild days and a noticeable drop in temperature once the sun goes down.

How To Make The Most Of It

Anzac Day itself plus the day after are shaping up as the pick of the weekend, with predicted clear skies and sunshine suitable for bike riding, barbecues and, dare I say it, beach swims.

If you’re up early for the Dawn Service or heading out in the evening, a jacket will come in handy, and while summer has well and truly passed, SPF is still non-negotiable for any extended time outside.

Save your housework and your hangovers for Monday when the showers return. It’s the perfect excuse to stay in, park up on the couch and catch up on MasterChef.
