The Kimberley’s Most Remote Luxury Lodge Is Reopening After A Three-Year Glow-Up
Tucked deep in the Kimberley on Balanggarra Country, Berkeley River Lodge is where adventure meets absolute indulgence. After a three-year refresh, this ultra-remote spot is reopening on 1 May 2026 with a whole new look and plenty to get excited about.

You can’t drive here; you fly in, landing between the Timor Sea and the ancient Berkeley River. It’s as wild as it gets, with red cliffs, open skies and a whole lot of nothing around you in the best possible way. This next chapter of barefoot luxury is all about slowing down and soaking it in.
Over the past few seasons, the property’s been given a serious upgrade. Picture new interiors, fresh decking and open-air ensuites with freestanding stone baths and rain showers made for stargazing. Designed by Empire, the villas pull their palette straight from the landscape, with tones of red earth, sand and native flora bringing the outside in.

There are plenty of new ways to switch off, too. Start your day with Morning Movement Sessions by the pool, ease into a Signature Kimberley Spa Treatment with hot stones and native botanical oils, or wrap it all up with the Barefoot Barbecue, drink in hand, feet in the sand and the Milky Way doing its thing overhead.
Five-night stays include everything from degustation dinners and native-inspired cocktails to a new in-villa mini bar stocked for sunset sessions. And getting here is now easier than ever, with scenic return flights from Darwin connecting east coast travellers to the lodge in a single day.

Remote, rugged and wildly beautiful, Berkeley River Lodge is the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left.
