Who says you need to be rugged up, sipping on mulled wine and ice-skating around the snow to enjoy the spirit of Christmas markets? Perth’s turning it on with plenty of fantastic markets this festive season, so you have no excuse not to get in the spirit and do a little (or a lot) of Christmas shopping.

Here are the best Christmas markets in Perth you need to go to this season.

Christmas Upmarket

Sunday 29 November

Get a head start on your Christmas gift shopping and check out this festive instalment of the Perth Upmarket. With such a huge range of incredible paintings, sculptures, ceramics and jewellery by so many talented local designers and artists, you’ll have no problems in finding the perfect gifts for your family and friends—and even yourself.  Once you're done shopping, be sure to grab a well-deserved gourmet goodie from one of the amazing food stalls. Christmas shoppers with a sweet tooth will definitely want to get their hands on a serving of mini Dutch pancakes from Cafe Oranje.

Fremantle Arts Centre’s Bazaar

Friday 4 DECEMBER TO Sunday 6 December

If you want to do your Christmas shopping with some lush gardens as the backdrop, there’s no better place than Fremantle Arts Centre’s Christmas Bazaar. Running all weekend, the FAC grounds will be packed with all 50 of the very best local market stalls selling the highest quality handcrafted goods, from woodwork and textiles to sculptures and ceramics. Consider your office secret santa sorted.

Christmas Festival In Stadium Park

Sunday 6, 13 AND 20 December

Stadium Park will be transformed into a fun-filled festive hub for the first three Sundays of December, and it’s definitely on the top of the list of coolest places to do your Christmas shopping. Speaking of lists, tick off your Christmas shopping list while supporting local at all of the gorgeous market stalls. Then, wander under the twinkling lights as you enjoy food from gourmet food trucks and drinks from the licensed bar area—the Christmas Festival is even dog-friendly, so you can multitask and take your furry friend for a walk around the stadium precinct while you’re there.

Made On The Left

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December

Earn some brownie points with your nearest and dearest by picking up some incredible handmade gifts when the Made on the Left Christmas Market takes over Esplanade Park for the weekend. With everything from handmade clothing and mosaic artworks to original canvas prints and luxury hand-poured candles on offer, you’ll struggle to leave these markets empty handed.

Perth Makers Market Christmas Edition

Saturday 5 December

The Perth Makers Market is taking over Yagan Square for a special Christmas edition, and it’s set to be the perfect day out for the whole family (or just the kids at heart). On top of the 80 stalls that will be selling art, homewares, jewellery, gourmet food and a whole lot more on the day, there’ll also be free face painting, free glitter tattoos plus a special visit from the man of the month, Santa!

Roxy Lane Christmas Market

Sunday 6 December

From 8am, the Roxy Lane Christmas Market will be taking over (you guessed it) Roxy Lane and Greenslade Lane in Maylands, as well as the carparks behind local businesses Steam Haus, Chapels On Whatley, Lula and Sasha and the Roxy Lane Community Garden to put on a Christmas market packed with locally-made goodies. Spoil your friends and family (and yourself) with handmade clay earrings, leafy green plants, toxin-free skincare and a whole lot more.

The Conscious Christmas Market

Tuesday 8 December

Eco-friendly Christmas gift-givers should head to The Conscious Christmas Market from 10am on Tuesday 8 December to shop from a range of locally and sustainably-made goodies. Pick up some handcrafted crochet toys from Anna Hadwin or grab a set of The Conscious Party Co’s Christmas playdough for the little ones in your life, or stock up on natural sanitiser and body care products from Happy Bee Botanicals. There’s even a Christmas paper-making workshop going on every half hour, with tickets going for just $30 here.

Perth Hills Artisan Market

Sunday 20 December

The Perth Hills Artisan Market is the perfect place to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift or a bite to eat, with the most fabulous local market stalls popping up around Mundaring Arena for one massive day of Christmas shopping on Sunday 20 December—perfect for all you last-minute shoppers. Round up your crew and head for the hills from 9am to shop handmade jewellery, beautiful homewares, delicious jam and everything in between. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for elves on kangaroos and Santa’s sleigh on the day!
