Who says we need to be rugged up, sipping on mulled wine and ice-skating around the snow to enjoy the spirit of Christmas markets? Perth’s turning it on this festive season so get in the spirit—we’re decking the halls with boughs of holly! Fa la la la la la la la la.

Here are the best Christmas markets in Perth you need to go to this season.

Christmas Shopping Night At The State Buildings

We’ve blurred the line between markets and simply lovely things to look at but how could we not include one of Perth’s most beautiful venues and their up and coming Christmas night? Taste, watch and purchase your way through that Christmas wish list in style.

Where: State Buildings
When: Thursday 30 November 5pm—8pm

Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar

If you want to do your Christmas shopping in some lush gardens, this is where it's at. Running all weekend, the garden will be full of all the best kind of market stalls from woodwork and textiles to sculptures and ceramics. Office secret Santa: sorted.

Christmas Outdoor Movies & Twilight Markets

We thought the peak of Christmas market happiness was free rocky road but turns out we were wrong. It’s actually all about Home Alone and Polar Express showing at the outdoor cinema after you've wandered through the market stalls. It’s almost too good.

Where: True North Block Merriwa
When: Saturday 2 December 5pm—10pm

Xmas Made-It Market

No doubt you’ll walk away from the markets in Whiteman Park with a bundle of handmade treasures (we’ve got our eye on the Christmas tree decorations and bunting) and that neighbourly feeling that Christmas is all about.

Where: Whiteman Park
When: Saturday 2 December 10am—4pm

East Fremantle Festival

Think of this more like your one-stop shop for Christmas presents! George Street will turn into a street fair of local music, roving entertainers, street food and all the artisan creators along the way. We also have a cheeky suspicion a circus workshop will be taking place!

Where: George Street, East Fremantle
When: Sunday 3 December 1pm—7pm

Made On The Left Christmas Market

In its ninth year, you can be pretty sure this is going to be a winning weekend idea. Here’s our plan: fill up on dim sum then head over to the cultural centre for all things kris and kringle. We highly recommend you do the same.

Where: Perth Cultural Centre Northbridge
When: Saturday 9-10 December 10am—5pm

The St Patrick’s Mt Lawley Christmas Festival

Christmas is about little baby Jesus after all, so it only feels right to head to the beautiful St Patrick’s Church for carols, Santa, market stalls and wait for it: camels and a bar. Yep, this is real life.

Where: St Patrick’s Anglian Church Mt Lawley
When: Sunday 10 December 3pm—9pm

Curious Collective Market

Featuring over 45 stalls from Perth creatives and small businesses, this is a sure thing for stocking fillers or just that random Uncle and Aunty that you struggle to buy for Every. Single. Year.

Perth Makers Market

With a massive 180+ stalls, we challenge even the toughest market critic to not love something at Perth Markers Market. Plus you can always pop to Blue Water Grill afterwards so it’s really a win win for everyone.
