Who says you need to be rugged up, sipping on mulled wine and ice-skating around the snow to enjoy the spirit of Christmas markets? Perth/Boorloo is turning it on with plenty of fantastic markets this festive season, so you have no excuse not to get in the spirit and do a little (or a lot) of Christmas shopping.
At Urban List, we're always keen to swap the big shopping centre chaos for a little something local. If you're keen to pick up a unique, homemade gift, here are some of the best Christmas markets in Perth. It's still early days so we'll keep this list updated as more are revealed.
Optus Stadium's Christmas Festival

Optus Stadium is rolling out the Chrissy decorations again this year, transforming the stadium into a massive Christmas-themed fun fair for two evenings this December. Stroll through all the markets, hit up the food trucks and drop into the Jingle Bar for a few cold ones. There's even an outdoor amphitheatre screening Christmas movies and plenty of family-friendly rides, games, crafts and activities. Best of all, entry is free.
Central Park Christmas Markets
Central Park, 140 St Georges and 150 St Georges Terrace, Perth | 6-7 December

Returning to Perth on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 December, the Central Park's Christmas Markets are an easy way to get into the spirit. They'll have all the festive fun, from carols and handmade ornaments to entertainment and plenty of unique gifts to shop from 25 local businesses. Plus, there will also be 250 free scoops of ice cream and free personalised candles on offer, so it won't be too hard to feel the festive cheer.
Local & Aesthetic's Christmas Markets

Our fave Aussie cafe slash art gallery slash retailer, Local & Aesthetic, is bringing its popular Christmas Markets back again this year from December 15-17. They'll be expanding out onto the lane next to their Mount Lawley cafe, with loads of awesome creative stalls to explore from local makers and creatives.
Perth Hills Artisan Market
50 Mundaring Weir Rd, Mundaring WA 6073 | 16-17 December
The Perth Hills Artisan Market is the perfect place to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift or a bite to eat, with the most fabulous local market stalls popping up around Mundaring Arena for two massive days of Christmas shopping on December 16 and 17. Round up your crew and head for the hills from 9.30am to shop handmade jewellery, beautiful homewares, delicious jam and everything in between. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for elves on kangaroos and Santa’s sleigh on the day!
Summer X Salt Beachside Christmas Market
348 West Coast Drive, Clarko Reserve, Trigg WA | 23 December
The beloved Summer X Salt markets are taking over Clarko Reserve in Trigg for a morning of beachside Christmas shopping on 23 December, and they’re bringing loads of new and exciting pop-up activities with them. Drop by and pick up some prezzies for the salty-lifestyle living people in your life at these sustainable markets—there’ll be plenty of local artists, ocean-friendly products, plus food, juice and coffee. Don’t forget, they also offer free yoga and meditation.
