It's no secret that we are a bit obsessed with the Perth Hills and all they have to offer, so we were just a teensy bit excited when we heard about a bonfire and mulled cider festival popping up this winter.
Along with toasty mulled cider and an orchard bonfire, there'll be hearty eats, a live band, fire twirlers and dancers to get you celebrating yet another successful harvest.
The event is based on the old pagan practice of casting away evil (called Wassail) and festival-goers are encouraged to dress in their best medieval garb and dance around the bonfire while banging pots and pans. Sounds fun to us, but if you'd prefer to stay cosy in the Old Apple Shed where the food is we won't judge.
Why not make a big night of it and book a three-course sit-down dinner in the restaurant prior to the festivities kicking off? Either way, you can't go wrong when mulled cider is involved.
