Fill Your Social Calendar With 4 Unmissable Fringe World Events In 2021

There’s nothing quite like a summer of FRINGE WORLD in Perth and after the year that's been, we couldn’t be happier to welcome some incredible Aussie acts coming our way.

Taking over Perth for a month from Friday, January 15 until Sunday, February 14, the 2021 season is packed with all sorts of mind-blowing goodness from cabaret to comedy and circus at almost 100 venues across Perth.

FRINGE WORLD fanatics, we hear you, figuring out where to start can be harder than working through a week of meal prep. Here at Urban List, we’re always up for a challenge and have carefully curated four shows that you simply can not live without.

Comedy Hypnotist Matt Hale – Bonkers!

Girls School, Metro City, Rendezvous Scarborough, Cockburn Gateway & Redmond Theatre | Saturday, January 16 – Sunday, February 14 2021

Just how do we describe a show by our favourite comedy hypnotist Matt Hale? Representing the best town in the world (Perth of course) Matt Hale’s shows are incredibly funny, the right amount of crazy, and a whole lotta fun. Returning to Fringe 2021, Bonkers promises to be bigger and better with more madness, sillyness and crazyness than ever before. Head to this one and we’re betting there’s a pretty high (if not 100 per cent) chance you’re gonna laugh ‘till your belly hurts. Get in early before it sells out (trust us, it happens) and get ready for an hour of partying and non-watch-swinging hypnosis that will knock your socks off.

Rouge

The Edith Spiegeltent, The Woodside Pleasure Garden | Friday, January 15 – Sunday, February 14 2021

If you’re a lover of all things circus and sexy, Rouge is the show you need to get tickets to stat. Winner of Best Circus at Adelaide Fringe 2020, Rouge is a seriously decadent concoction of jaw-dropping acrobatics, operatic cabaret and cheeky burlesque. Rouge is all about exploring human relationships, sensuality and gender through storytelling that works in every way. The physical strength and utter talent of the performers will be enough to blow your mind. Pair that with some awe-inspiring vocals, saucy costumes and an epic set, Rouge will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and hankering for more. If you’re not lusting for more of this one, we don’t know what to tell ya.

Elixir

The Edith Spiegeltent, The Woodside Pleasure Garden | Friday, January 15 – Sunday, February 14, 2021

You’d be right to sense a bit of a theme here. We just can’t get enough of adult circus and we’re pretty sure just about everyone out there feels the same. The boys behind Elixir are one talented bunch. Get settled in and you may wonder what you’re doing looking into a science lab. It’s all part of the show as this cirque sensation trio start mixing up a whole lot of chemicals to discover the ultimate body-enhancing human elixir. In our humble opinion, these guys have the elixir sorted. Either way, the show is hilarious, charming and oozing sexy. Oh and yes, the circus acts and acrobatics are awesome.

Hot Sauce Burlesque

The Hat Trick at The Woodside Pleasure Garden | Thursday, January 28 – Sunday, February 7

In the mood for a saucy date night? Look no further. The devoted team behind Hot Sauce Burlesque have done us all a favour and quarantined in the middle of Summer to bring you a night of chilli-hot burlesque and outrageous comedy. This one’s guaranteed to thrill.
