Roll up, roll up, but leave the kids at home: an adults-only cabaret showing the sexier side of the circus is making its debut this summer in Perth.
Set in a cosmic cabaret saloon in a galaxy far, far away, Lassù is the saucy spectacle by seventh-generation circus performer and producer Merrik Ashton.
The brand new, out-of-this-world production is blasting off on 15 January at Fringe World 2025, with a 29-show season steaming up the bespoke big top at Victoria Park’s Taylor Reserve.
Journey To The Big Top Out Of This World
If you’re expecting an innocent, fun-for-all-ages show, think again. As Rodeo Clown Rusty journeys through the golden days of Lassù, you can bank on scantily-dressed space cowboys and the legendary Rodeo Sisters contorting, twisting and bending their bodies in seemingly impossible ways.
Award-winning choreographer and Lassù’s Creative Director Mitchell Woodcock joins Ashton for his anticipated production debut. Together the duo will bring intergalactic energy to Fringe, blending modern and traditional circus, dance and burlesque with the out of this world and Western details.
For anyone unfamiliar with the Ashtons, the world-renowned circus family have been entertaining Australians since 1850, making them the longest-serving performing arts organisation in the country. Now operating under Ashton Entertainment, Ashton and the team are continuing the legacy with Lassù—though the risque rodeo is a little spicier than the traditional Ashton Circus.
