It’s time to gather your pals for a cosy night out because Girls School Cinema, brought to you by the legends behind FRINGE WORLD Festival and Rooftop Movies, returns Thursday 6 May, with tickets on sale now!
This season, prepare to head into the iconic heritage building to catch one of their epic double screenings. Sing along to all the hits at the Mamma Mia! double, feel all the feels at back-to-back screenings of classic rom-coms Legally Blonde and My Best Friend’s Wedding, pay tribute to the great Robin Williams with a double screening of Jumanji and Hook, or settle in for a lengthy five and a half hour Christopher Nolan double of Tenet and Interstellar.
Of course, if you prefer a good scare you could get in on The Unholy and sweat through The Shining and Doctor Sleep or go the Iconic Horror Double and take on The Silence Of The Lambs and Carrie.
There are loads more doubles plus solo features as well if you’re not up for a long night, just head to their website to check out the full program and book quick to avoid missing out.
As always, you can expect bucket loads of cosy and cool vibes with bright and colourful bean bags to snuggle up on, fire pits for roasting marshmallows pre-show, delectable charcuterie boards, and all your favourite cinema snacks—is a movie experience really complete without popcorn? Plus, don’t forget to grab a glass (or bottle, no judgement) of vino or a crafty beer from the bar before you go in.
If you want to make your movie experience extra special, keep an eye out as there’ll be more than just magical movies taking over these beautiful heritage halls—find gallery exhibitions, tours, and even the odd quiz night for all the Harry Potter, Disney and film fanatics.
