Hands up if you're missing the outdoor cinemas that popped up over summer! Yeah, us too. Which is why we couldn't quite contain our excitement when we heard that the guys behind Fringe Festival and Rooftop Cinemas in Northbridge are opening a boutique winter cinema in East Perth.
And while we're pretty excited about the movies, we're most excited about the location. The Girls School Cinema is opening in one of Perth's most beautiful buildings (ok, it's not a castle, but Perth doesn't have castles so if you fell for that, the jokes on you). It used to be a girls' school and was a police station after that and it sits atop the highest part of East Perth.
Just like at Rooftop Movies, the food trucks will be out in full force and you'll be able to get your hands on Toastface Grillah toasties, Suppa Club's delish soups, popcorn and all the candy you could imagine. Drinks will be coming from Madfish Wine and Gage Roads, and there's been talk of mulled wine and toasted marshmallows around a firepit. Sign us up!
They'll be showcasing everything from arthouse films and old classics to the biggest blockbusters, so there'll be something to tickle everyone's fancy.
To kick off the season, Avengers: Infinity War will be screening on 15 June, and tickets are on sale now for the very special price of $10! What are you waiting for?
Until then, here are some more amazing things to do in Perth.
