Dunsborough’s wellness scene has exploded in recent years, and the arrival of Heartwood later this year is only set further establish the region as a go to for wellness getaways. The beloved Cottesloe wellness institution has announced it will open a second location inside the highly anticipated South West House lifestyle hotel, becoming the property's official wellness partner when both open in December.

More than just a treatment space, Heartwood will be woven throughout the entire hotel experience. Guests can expect to encounter the brand through scent, ritual, retail and product integration across the 54-room property, creating an immersive wellness offering that extends far beyond the treatment room.

For founder Alex Wilson, the move south represents more than simple expansion. After years of customers urging Heartwood to open a South West outpost, she says the timing, and the location, finally felt right.

“With a strong following, a great culture and our inimitable sandalwood product range behind us, we now feel ready to bring the Heartwood experience to the South West, in a location that feels completely right,” said Wilson.

The move also feels like a natural extension of the brand itself. Heartwood has become synonymous with its signature sandalwood range, crafted using sustainably grown Indian sandalwood from the East Kimberley. Bringing that sense of ritual and connection to place into the South West’s own tranquil bushland setting feels less like expansion and more like a homecoming.

Deeply connected to the region through family ties and decades spent in the area, Wilson says the new space will be shaped by the same sense of individuality, warmth and groundedness that has earned Heartwood such a loyal following. With design and construction already underway, Heartwood Dunsborough is expected to open alongside South West House in December 2026.
