Soak Up Sweeping Swan River Views On The Matagarup Bridge Climb

By – who is always dreaming of her next meal and reckons a good martini solves most problems

The Matagarup Bridge Climb

Ready to get your heart racing? The Matagarup Bridge Climb is now open and offers anyone fit and able over the age of eight years old the opportunity to experience majestic 360-degree views from 72 metres above the Swan River.

You’ll have to really work for that view though; the bridge wasn’t originally built for climbing so there’s 314 steps to tackle up a 45 degree angle and a fair few tight spaces to shimmy, slide and squeeze through before you reach the open-air SkyView platform.

We reckon it’s worth it though, especially considering the climb is open day and night so you can choose to climb by sunlight, moonlight (and the bright lights of the bridge and stadium), or maybe even time it just right and get one seriously epic sunset.

If climbing just isn’t enough for you, giddy up, because the zipline is also due to ope soon. Yep, you’ll be able to feel the wind in your hair as you whiz 400 metres across the bridge and Swan River at speeds of up to 75km per hour, down to a safe landing platform in Burswood Park. And if that doesn’t give you a feel-good thrill, we don’t know what will.

Tickets and gift certificates are on sale now, with the Bridge Climb and Express Zip tickets starting from $59, and Zip+Climb packages from $99. Get booking.
