After having to postpone due to the recent COVID lockdown, we're pretty stoked to hear Perth’s first ever festival dedicated solely to our flourishing cocktail scene will be going ahead next month. And to celebrate, they're shouting all ticket holders a free drink and bite to eat.
A showcase of the best mixed drinks and small batch booze around, Perth Cocktail Festival is taking over the green riverside surrounds of Crown Parklands from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 March and promises to be an 18+ wonderland dedicated to the love of all things shaken, stirred, muddled, and strained.
Sip your way through each of the different themed areas, including Espresso Martini Land, a nod to our favourite caffeinated cocktail; Sakura Saloon, celebrating drinks inspired by the finest Japanese landscapes and liquors; Once Upon A Time In Mexico, a fiesta of tequila, tacos and margaritas; Island Time, a tiki playground dedicated to tropical rum cocktails; and The Gin Garden; featuring gin cocktails from some of the UK and Europe’s swankiest bars.
Plus, keep an eye out for pop-ups from your fave Perth bars, with Bar Lafayette, Neon Palms, Mechanic’s Institute, Foxtrot Unicorn and more each showcasing their cocktail creations across the long weekend.
Throughout the fest you’ll also find plenty of cocktail masterclasses, so you can learn how to upgrade your at-home bartending skills, as well as impressive showcases from the city’s best mixologists, if you prefer just to sit back and watch the pros.
Food-wise, there’ll be loads of top grub to pair with the first-class cocktails including pop-ups from some of our top local eateries. Exactly which restaurants will be there is yet to be announced, but we’re told you can expect everything from grazing boards and healthy fresh salads to drool-worthy burgers, with stacks of gluten-free and vego options as well, so you’re bound to find something yum to tuck into.
Other fun things on offer include a karaoke bar (just what you need after a few too many cocktails), silent disco, and live DJs to help you really shake it up late into the evening. But if you’d prefer to keep things a little more PG, don’t worry, there will be lots of chilled grassy spaces to kick back in as well.
Tickets for Perth’s first dedicated cocktail festival are on sale now so start lining up your sipping posse.
