Toddler on a pram friendly walk in Perth

Craving some fresh air and sunshine? Start packing your stroller, we’ve tracked down Perth’s best pram friendly walks to hit with your bub or toddler.

While there are so many great walks near Perth, this list showcases those pram friendlier ones with fantastic trails, beautiful flora and fauna, and top notch amenities—we’re talking playgrounds for the little tackers and much needed toilets and coffee stops for you.

From paved footpaths hugging the coastline to rugged red dirt for the offroad pram owner amongst us, here are the best pram friendly walks close to Perth.

Perth River Walks

A visit to the big smoke of the CBD can be made into an opportunity for something more than shopping or meetings, with incredible paths running alongside the river, in both Perth and South Perth. Whether you are up for a big walk, or a small stroll, there are options galore. If a little more rugged trails are up your alley, head onto Heirisson Island for a visit to the local kangaroos, on a 2km loop. You can either park on the island, or near the Camfield or Optus stadium, and explore Matagarup bridge, and the neighbouring playground afterwards. Public toilets are also close by which makes this an excellent option not only for prams but mums and bubs.

Woodbridge Riverside

If riverside walking has piqued your interest, but you are looking for something a little further from the CBD, head out to Woodbridge for a magnificent walk along the river. The sealed path and even ground makes this gentle 5km return walk perfect for prams. Park at the Woodbridge Riverside park, and you’ll have an excellent post-walk playground, toilets, and a coffee stop too.

Yanchep National Park

There are so many beautiful pockets to explore throughout Yanchep National Park, and with a limestone base on the trails, they are suitable for your prams too. You can explore the wetlands on the 2km wetlands loop or stick to the trails through the woodlands, over the koala boardwalk, and along the lake. With public toilets at every turn, vast open grassed play spaces, and a cafe by the water's edge, this is a great option for a day out with little ones, or mums group catch ups alike.

Araluen Botanic Park

Escape to the beautiful surrounds of Araluen Botanic park for more than just incredible trails to push the pram. You can get a good cardio workout in with the ups and downs along the hilly and quiet trails, relax in the shade with a coffee, or smell the roses and tulips as you wander. The park is beautifully situated in Roleystone and provides plenty of tranquillity thanks to the constantly flowing waterfalls and streams—it’s the perfect backing track to your little one’s naptime. The park also runs a variety of school holiday activities for the older kids, so keep an eye on their website for details to take the whole family along for a day.

The Lakes

We have two great options here for a lake loop trail. You can head to Lake Monger or Lake Gwellup for pretty pram-friendly lake loops that deliver endless flora and fauna to entertain those eager little eyes. Both have easy parking and access to playgrounds and public toilets for before or after your walk.

Kings Park

A reliable location in any weather or season is Kings Park. Take a walk along the law walk, or get lost through the variety of paths that twist their way through the park. With playgrounds galore, you could easily entertain the little ones after your walk anywhere in the park, but a highlight is definitely the Rio Tinto Naturescape playspace for a nature-based play experience. Cafes and toilets are dotted throughout the park, and there is an abundance of wide open grassed areas for a picnic or snooze under the trees.
