The beloved Vic Park Hotel has just undergone a massive $2.3 million glow up and with its airy new beer garden and function space—not to mention banging Brazilian-inspired eats courtesy of Head Chef Andre Nunes—grabbing a pint at the local has never looked better.
Dubbed ‘The Park’, the huge new dog-friendly outdoor area has loads of green spaces to chill out in and a mix of seating options to suit groups of all sizes—making it a no-brainer for celebrations, knock-off drinks, or just an easy-going meal with the fam. If you’re catering for a few kids in the crew you’ll also be glad to hear there’s a new playground to keep ‘em busy, plus, plenty of big screens for the big kids amongst you who can’t stand to miss a minute.
But looks aside, we’re damn excited by the sound of all the eats Head Chef Andre Nunes’ (who used to head up The Aviary’s kitchen) has on offer. The menu fuses pub classics with the Brazillian flavours he grew up with and there are loads we’re keen to tuck into.
His life-changing housemade chimichurri makes a regular appearance across mouth-watering plates like grilled Exmouth tiger prawns, lemon pepper calamari and a chicken schnitty that we can’t stop thinking about. There’s also an epic $36 Brazilian Rump Cap worth travelling for. Plus, pub faves like parmies, steak sangas, burgers and caesar salads, to keep everyone happy. Throw on a few freshly poured pints or a round or two of cocktails and you'll no doubt have room for a sticky date pudding or one final serve of chippies before you head home.
We reckon this place is going to be buzzing with eager locals when it opens this weekend, so rally up your mum, your dad, your mates and your furry best friends and book a table now.
