WA Beer Week Kicks Off This Weekend And Here’s How To Celebrate

By Alice Dolphin

Dutch Trading Co for WA Beer Week

In the pecking order of drinks, there’s no doubt that beer has long held a place at the top here in Australia.

That’s why we’re so thankful to have an entire week dedicated purely to WA beer and all the hoppy goodness that comes with it—all thanks to the WA Brewers Association.

The celebrations run from Friday 4 June to Sunday 13 June so ready your pint glasses, here are the best things to do for WA Beer Week.

Draught Punk Beer Fest At Colonial Brewing Co

SATURDAY 5 JUNE

Craft beer, good food, golf and a picturesque setting—there’s loads to love about Colonial Brewing Co in Margaret River. So you best believe it’ll be the place to be over the long weekend with their Draught Punk Beer Fest going down from midday onwards on Saturday 5 June. If you're down south, stop by to try limited run and unreleased beers from CBCo and try your hand at golf over the lake. There’ll also be loads of live music to chill out to, with local favourites Verge Collection headlining the action.

Bridges 2 Beer Fun Run

SATURDAY 5 JUNE

Not going down south? Kick your weekend off at the Bridges 2 Beer Fun Run and get a hit of exercise and fresh air before your cold ‘n frothy reward—these beers even have electrolytes to help bring you back to life. Starting at 11am at McCallum Park, you can choose from either a 6km or 11km route for a great cause, with proceeds from all entries (which are only $10 plus booking fee) going to the Pink Boots Society.

Brew Day With Campus At Brew U

SUNDAY 6 JUNE

No more going to the bottle shop, after this masterclass you’ll be brewing beers of your own in no time. Head brewers at Campus Brewing will give you the lowdown on all things hops, grains, malt and yeast, so you can fix yourself up a nice brew in your own backyard.

Spicks And Specks Themed Trivia Night

THURSDAY 10 JUNE

Head over to Brugan Brewery for a night of laughs, quizzes, and of course, some excellent beer. With live music on top of that, you’ll be in for a darn good time. Bring your thinking cap, but leave your car at home—you’ll want to be getting in on all the beery action.

Artisan And Cheese At Dutch Trading Co

THURSDAY 10 JUNE

Head on over to the DTC for a whirlwind journey through a range of artisan cheeses, paired with the perfect craft brew. Exploring different tasty cheese textures, flavours, and how they work with beers, you’ll  get two of our great loves together for one special night.

Brewed Laughter Comedy Show

FRIDAY 11 JUNE

You’ll be getting a serious six pack after this comedy show, because you’ll be laughing that much. Head to the DTC and settle in for a fabulous night of laughter and really, really good brews with some of the best beer experts in town.

Urban Craft Beer Crawl

SATURDAY 12 JUNE

Starting at midday, make your way into Perth for the Urban Craft Beer Crawl. Kicking off at The Stables, spend your day traipsing around the best bars Perth has to offer, each of them collaborating with different breweries (we’re talking Feral, Blasta, Beerfarm, Wild Hop, Cheeky Monkey and Heroes & Villains). There’s only a few tickets left—all of which include taster paddles, a middy voucher and a lunch voucher, so hurry along and grab yours to get brew-zy.

Cajun Boil Up at Blasta Brewing Co

SUNDAY 13 JUNE

If you love seafood and good brews, we’ve found your happy place. Rock up to the Cajun Boil Up with an empty stomach and an empty pint glass, there’ll be heaps of deliciously fresh and spiced seafood, shellfish and veggies on offer. Just don’t leave without taste-testing the Artisan Brewing collaboration beer release, the Golden Ale.

Still in need of more things to do? Check out what's on in Perth this June
