William Street Development Gets Green Light, Bringing Residential And Office Space To Northbridge

A $10 million mixed-use apartment building has been greenlit for Northbridge's William Street, with the new development set to exceed the the usual six-story limit for the area. The building is set to house six one-bedroom and three three-bedroom apartments, alongside commercial space on the ground floor and a green-filled rooftop terrace. 

The building will also include four floors of office space, taking is over the usual six-story limit for buidlings in the area, with developers set to to provide streetscaping and community parking in exchange for the additional floors. 

The apartment complex will include nine residential car bays, 12 commercial bays and 20 bicycle bays for occupants. 

It's expected the new buidling will bring fresh life to Northbridge and its surroundings, with designers intentionally including pocket parks and greenery to bring to life what they call a “compact vertical village” inspired by its surroundings.

Throughout the approval process, building owners Skypacts Property Resources cited the importance of the extra two stories for ‘community benefit’. The proposal was approved by the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel in a four-one vote. 

Construction start dates are yet to be confirmed.
