The Verdict

Set in a charming character space with timber floors and stained glass windows, 1982 Food + Coffee is an absolute Subi gem. The crew here are dishing up top-notch coffees, flavoured lattes, delicious takeaway bagels and toasties, plus, stunning dine-in brunch dishes that taste even better than they look.

Kick things off with a turmeric or matcha latte or one of the delicious freshly blended smoothies—we’d suggest the Green Cleanser for a fresh morning boost or the Morning Glory packed with espresso, banana, raw cocoa and almond milk.

Food-wise, they've got loads of classics as well as Asian-inspired numbers like Unagi On Toast and Kimchi Fried Rice. We’re personally huge fans of the hearty Veggie Breakfast complete with halloumi and potato gems and the Ohayō Burger which is stuffed with crispy pork, an egg with a runny yolk cooked to perfection, plus cheese, lettuce, thousand island sauce and a side of good old potato gems.

Then again, you could feast your eyes (and taste buds) on the Dutch Pancakes if you’re more of a dessert for breakfast kinda person. These sweet little stacks are served with raspberry and white chocolate panna cotta, sea salt cream cheese foam, orange curd, seasonal fruits, maple syrup, and a tasty chocolate topping.

Keep an eye out for the iconic mint bicycle hanging on the wall and you’ll know you’re in the right spot.
