The Verdict
Good news, guys! You can now get your brekky with a side of oxygen, thanks to Perth’s newest laneway jungle cafe.
It’s called Botanical Lane—half nursery and plant store, half brunch bar. You’ll find it right next to Cioccolato Espresso in Applecross. Russell and Anita Corr took over Cioccolato in 2015 and have done a great job overhauling the breakfast menu (this place gets seriously buzzed on weekends). The laneway was always a popular space, but now it’s been amped up, courtesy of dozens of beautiful indoor plants.
“People have always loved to linger down the laneway at Cioccolato Espresso, so we wanted to build upon the experience,” says Anita. “I love my plants (as you can see from our other venues, Hylin and Back Bar in West Leederville), so I thought I’d put my green thumbs to work.”
So what plants can you grab? Think rare varieties like Swiss cheese, chain of hearts, chain of pearls and devil’s ivy in a range of colours, plus old faves like succulents, monstera deliciosa and the Insta-popular fiddle leaf (AKA all the ones you’ve killed multiple times).
To celebrate the big opening this Saturday 16 June, the guys are even giving away FREE COFFEE between 9am – 2pm. Get on down and check it out.
