The Verdict

The gorgeous Asian-inspired Chapels on Whatley is a quaint Perth cafe specialising in fine tea. More than 550 flavours are on offer, including British, French and Chinese black tea blends served in Wedgewood, Royal Daulton and Royal Albert China, and varieties of white, green, oolong and pu-erh tea served in glassware designed by Chapels themselves. The best part? For just $5.50 per person you can sample as many types of tea as you’d like, one pot at a time over two hours. Match your favourite cuppa with a delicious cake, pudding or pastry, or a selection of cute-as-a-button macarons in flavours such as pistachio, lavender, rhubarb and salted caramel. Don’t worry if you’re not much of a sweet tooth – they also serve a carefully curated Eurasian menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are fully-licensed. Make sure you book ahead on weekends to secure a cosy table.
