After lugging their adorable gelato carts around the market scene to great success, Chicho Gelato opened up their first ever shopfront in Northbridge. Having studied at gelato university in Italy, the cold creamy stuff made by owners Carly and Cesare De Bartolo is the shiz-nit. It’s the kind of gelato that actually tastes the way it sounds, made with nothing artificial and only the best ingredients.
Gelato lovers can expect quirky, delicious flavours—like lavender honeycomb, jalapeno pineapple and matcha green tea with caramelised white chocolate—a free-flowing chocolate tap and seasonal specials like the Chicho Panino (gelato sandwich).
They also do delish Micrology cold brew on tap which you can have straight up or in a float with some of that epic gelato.
This winter, the Chicho crew is whipping up something a little extra delightful—gelato mochi. An ode to Japan, this delicious sticky rice dumpling is filled with a layer of gelato and has a surprise filling in the centre. Everything's made from scratch in the Chicho kitchen and there are two flavours to devour—black sesame gelato with an oozy yuzu centre and matcha gelato with a raspberry marshmallow filling. Get your hands on these delish desserts from 15 to 16 and 22 to 23 June before they sell out.
