Big call, but the roast chicken roll at Coffee Heads might just be our favourite thing to come out of 2023. The warm, succulent roast chicken, the herby remoulade, the slightly toasted potato bun—it's giving rooster roll nostalgia in the very best way and is the one thing we'll always make time for on a road trip down south.
Let's face it, the drive through coffee shop was a surprising turn for ex-Vasse Felix head chef Brendan Pratt, but one we’re oh-so grateful for. And while he's now moved on to a new role as Creative Culinary Director of the Parker Group (Busselton Pavilion, The Standard, The Royal, fleur and Dandelion), the gourmet bites he helped create keep this spot firmly in our road trip essentials.
Boasting a solid lineup of rolls, toasties and sweet treats, as well as banging espresso and filter coffee and service that stands up with Perth’s best, it’s the kind of place we’d happily drive out of your way for. Not that you have to—it’s located conveniently on the way to Margaret River, making it the ideal pit stop on your next road trip.
