The Verdict
With incredibly inventive (and delicious) dishes, smashing cocktails and excellent service, Dusit Dheva in Northbridge is easily one of Perth’s best Thai restaurants—and head chef and owner, Mhee, has the awards to prove it.
Melding traditional Thai cuisine with western techniques, one of the things we really love about Dusit Dheva is that it’s a fine dining establishment at its core, without being stuffy and overpriced.
A little off the beaten track—it’s tucked down the Fitzgerald Street end of James Street—Dusit Dheva boasts an extensive menu split into canapes, entrees and mains, as well as stir fry, rice and noodle dishes and vegetarian eats. Choosing what to order is no easy feat.
Order the betel leaves with poached king prawn and you will not be disappointed. These delicious, juicy morsels are topped with ripe mango cut into delicate cubes, lime, fresh herbs and some of the yummiest caviar we’ve had the pleasure of tasting. And you won’t be able to resist the galloping horses—minced duck and cashew nut served on fresh pineapple and mandarin segments—so don’t. If you’re feeling particularly hungry, go ahead and order the Kratong Thong as well—these minced chicken bites served in crispy golden cups, topped with sweet corn are the Thai version of tacos.
The crispy soft shell crab, perched on top of a mound of watermelon is a real crowd pleaser, and it’s no surprise the roast duck spiced red curry with lychees is the chef’s specialty, the duck is cooked to absolute perfection, tender and delicious. Pork belly fans will be happy to know that Dusit Dheva’s is coated with caramelised palm sugar and cooked twice!
Dessert here is mandatory. As far as sticky rice goes, Dusit Dheva’s is outstanding, but the lime brulee tart takes the cake.
And don’t get us started on the booze list. It’s long and filled with top quality drops, beers, spirits and incredible cocktails. The butterfly tea and lychee martini with vodka, elderflower liqueur, lychee and butterfly tea is served in a light up glass, which somehow makes it taste even better, and the Sriracha Mango is perfect for chilli lovers.
Perfect for date nights or anytime you’re craving quality Thai, Dusit Dheva can also help you to throw a private function. Book now and prepare those taste buds for a delectable night out!

White tablecloths, marble, jacketed wait staff and caviar bumps—Gibney is hands down the fanciest of all the venues under George Kailis' name. And honestly, it might just take the cake for 'most opulent dining destination' in all of Perth.
Tom’s Providore & Wine Bar
If you’re a Leederville local, you will probably recall the devastation felt the day we discovered the beloved Tom’s Cafe right in the heart of Oxford Street was closing down towards the start of the pandemic. But thankfully since closing the OG, the legends have come back with a new and improved Tom’s in Highgate.
