The Verdict
Fika is a Swedish custom that is all about taking a break to enjoy your coffee and our friends at Fika On Brix in Beckenham have certainly embraced this work day ritual.
They serve up amazing sweets including some of the prettiest layered drip cakes you have ever set your eyes on, but it's the brunch menu we can't get enough of.
The trio of garlic mushrooms on toasted rye with a generous serving of goat's feta and balsamic glaze is a winner, and the set of three chicken katsu bao are pretty good too.
The team has also just brought back their lamington stack pancakes, a dish that their early regulars will remember well. Think vanilla pancakes loaded with house-made raspberry jam and topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, freeze dried raspberries and toasted coconut. Sounds like the perfect dish in the lead up to Australia Day, doesn't it?
