The Verdict
Laika Coffee in Lathlain is dishing up amazing brunches and even better coffee (they roast their own on site) alongside pilates classes and a basketball court to keep kids big and small entertained.
The menu changes up with the seasons. But right now, the house cured beetroot salmon with crispy capers and whipped ricotta has to be one of our faves, alongside iconic dishes like the brisket eggs benny (drool) and homemade crumpets topped with vanilla mascarpone and fresh fruits.
If you're there on weekends you can also get around Jooey’s Fried Chicken, a new Korean fried chicken pop-up by Chef Jooey Kim. Pick between four chicken flavour waffles—Yangnyeom chicken (sticky gochujang sauce), snowing cheese, spring onion with lemon mustard sauce, and maple and soy sauce—and don't forget to pop on a side or two. The cucumber salad is elite.
