The Verdict
The stunning venue that is Market Grounds in Kings Square is divided into a dining area, a mezzanine, the main bar, a sunken lounge (how luxe) and a garden bar—The Grounds—because we Perthlings love the outdoor life. With plenty of greenery, sunshine and an outdoor bar (of course!) we're willing to bet you'll spend at least a few afternoons at The Grounds in your lifetime.
Market Grounds' chef Matthew Powell has worked his way around Europe to Perth, where he’s worked in some of Perth’s favourite hot spots including Il Lido, The Brisbane and Boulevard Hotels and Freo’s favourite, Little Creatures.
Focused on working with the best of what’s in season and using all the produce from WA and Australia’s doorstep, the Market Grounds menu is seasonal and always hits the spot.
If you’re dining with mates friends you can’t go past Chef Powell’s favourite dish, the whole roasted lamb shoulder from Amelia Park, served in its own natural stock with crispy saltbush and salsa verde. And if you’re a seafood lover, we strongly recommend the Spencer Gulf King Prawns.
