Kalamunda cafe Mason & Bird is putting the hills on the culinary map in a serious way. The brain child of Print Hall's former head chef, Brad Johnston, his partner Jacklyn Noel and the ex-venue and bar manager of Rockpool, Matt Nguyen, Mason & Bird is less fine dining and more of a casual affair but with the same wow-worthy flavours you'd expect from these guys.
Their all day menu is choc-full of brunch goodies like avo with charred corn salsa, savoury waffles and their own homemade cocoa pops to keep your inner child happy. There are also plenty of toasties and burgers but it's the mains like the braised lamb parpadelle and pan fried gnocchi that will get you excited.
