The Verdict

You might know it as The Emerson Bar, but this beautiful, sprawling three-storey pub in the CBD has relaunched as the fittingly majestic Prince Lane. With a new name, new head chef and new menu, Prince Lane continues the party with a fun spin on pub food, deliciously pretty cocktails and Insta-worthy, plush décor.

Each floor has a different personality. We’re talking the stuff of interior design fantasies. The ground floor Public Bar is perfect for settling in for a post-work bevvie, with seating aplenty and an Art Deco vibe. The Glamour Bar is a chic, jewel-toned backdrop for your next cocktail night or private soiree (and yep, there’s a stage and a dance floor), while the Rooftop Bar is a stylish oasis that couldn’t be more perfect for balmy nights, with its vivid greenery set against the sparkling CBD skyline. And who could forget the rooftop karaoke suite decked out with an uber-luxe tropical vibe?

New chef Ryan Ebbs hails from the States and has cooked for the likes of Jay Z, P Diddy, Jamie Foxx, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton and Michael Jordan (no biggie). He ‘s responsible for the inventive new food menu, which takes the pub dishes we love and transforms them into a gastronomic adventure (think three different types of loaded fries, or pizza with a parmie base). The creative cocktail list has us lusting after every single one, with lamington martinis and frozen blood orange margaritas just to name a few.

Each new day brings a new food or drink special, which, along with trivia, live music, DJs and sold-out club nights, have Prince Lane popping off every day of the week.
