Sammy’s
The Verdict
When you’re looking for a delicious but nutritious pick me up in the morning, Sammy’s in Mount Hawthorn is the place to go. Sitting pretty in The Mezz, Sammy’s is specialising in, well, sammys. Makes sense.
Their simple cheese toastie is actually a decadent combination of provolone, aged cheddar and tasty that tastes anything but simple while the spicy sammy—nduja, tomato and basil, toasted—will get your tastebuds tingling. If you're into roast beef dinners, you'll want to head in immediately and order yourself the French Dip. Think layers of roast beef, caramelised onion, melted cheddar and mustard, served with a mouth-watering beef jus so you can dunk that sambo to your heart's content.
Right now you can also pick up their famous truffle and gruyere toasted sanga for $15 a pop. Rich, gooey and downright indulgent, it's every bit as good as you'd expect. Make tracks while you can though, this one won't be around for long.
They also pour an excellent coffee and whizz up green smoothies or watermelon and dragonfruit granitas in a heartbeat.
