The Verdict

I bet if I told you it’s possible to get fit in 20 minutes a week you would laugh in my face, right? Well what sounds like the impossible is actually a reality, thanks to the legends at SpeedFit, the newest fitness craze to sweep through Perth. If you’re still a little unconvinced, here’s the nitty gritty of what SpeedFit is all about.

Electro Muscular Stimulation, or EMS, is what makes it all possible. In basic terms, that’s a bunch of electric impulses which make your muscles contract and relax. It basically mimics the action your muscles go through when doing resistance exercises. Sounds easy, right?

Wrong. While the sessions at SpeedFit are only 20 minutes long, it’s 20 minutes of intense physical activity, that will leave you sweating and in need of a shower—thanks to the professional personal trainers guiding you through your workout. Put it this way, one 20 minute session can be the equivalent of a three-hour weights session in the gym!

Thankfully though, the crew at SpeedFit have thought of everything to make the process as smooth as possible. You get a complimentary isotonic drink upon arrival to keep dehydration at bay, as well as a free protein shake before you leave to help soothe your tired muscles. Plus, there’s a shower on site equipped with everything you need (yes, hairdryers and straighteners included) to get you back to work looking better than when you arrived at your appointment.

When it comes to the getup, you do need to wear SpeedFit’s specially designed black shorts and top (you do kinda resemble a ninja), but this is all included in your trial fee so it ain’t no thang. And, there’s no need to buy new sneakers either, this is one workout you can do barefoot. Yes!

Open from Monday to Saturday and Sundays by appointment, booking in at SpeedFit couldn’t be any easier—it’s all done online. And with locations across Perth, including Northbridge, Claremont, Currambine, Osborne Park and Cockburn, finding a studio close by is a cinch.

SpeedFit are offering The Urban List readers a half price trial offer, so what are you waiting for? Make a booking for your next lunch break now!
