The Verdict
Listen up SOR crew, Sweetlips Fish Bar (AKA one of our favourite fish and chip joints) has a whole new healthy focus.
Serving all of your fried favourites, along with a big selection of options for the health conscious, Sweetlips fish is as fresh as ever.
You can choose from local catches like Spanish mackerel, Cone Bay barramundi and pink snapper, then spend a while deliberating whether to get it battered thin and crispy style, grilled with lemon and black pepper or panko crumbed.
Grab a side of oysters, marinated octopus or grilled prawns and their delicious seasonal slaw and you have yourself a pretty healthy meal, so you can justify sharing a handful of chips with mates.
Sweetlips also serves poke bowls, burgers, bao and tacos, and in case you’re about to chuck a wobbly, they still fry up crab sticks, pineapple fritters, deep fried feta, dim sims and all of your other fried faves.
Whether you’re opting for a dine in or takeaway feast, Sweetlips are so confident in their filleting skills they will give you your money back if you find a bone.
So, if you’re looking for a takeaway option with plenty of healthy options, it’s safe to say Sweetlips is the place to go. Check out their menu and head to their Freo, Leederville or Scarborough fish bars toot sweet.

Gibney
White tablecloths, marble, jacketed wait staff and caviar bumps—Gibney is hands down the fanciest of all the venues under George Kailis' name. And honestly, it might just take the cake for 'most opulent dining destination' in all of Perth.
Tom’s Providore & Wine Bar
If you’re a Leederville local, you will probably recall the devastation felt the day we discovered the beloved Tom’s Cafe right in the heart of Oxford Street was closing down towards the start of the pandemic. But thankfully since closing the OG, the legends have come back with a new and improved Tom’s in Highgate.
