The Verdict
Sweetwater Rooftop Bar in East Freo is famous for its lush interiors, amazing cocktails and gosh darn delicious Asian-inspired eats. Serving up a seasonal menu that rotates every six to eight weeks, the food here is fresh to death and loved by Perth vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike.
While the regular menu features all your faves, like crispy duck and water chestnut wontons, hot and numbing boneless beef ribs and karaage chicken wings, it’s the Brunch Cha that keeps us coming back more. Every Sunday you can feast on a nine-course yum cha brunch (yes, really) and stuff yourself silly with pulled pork, salt and pepper cuttlefish and beef and bamboo pot-sticker dumplings. The vegan yum cha menu is just as good (if not better), boasting the tastiest caramelised eggplant and fermented black bean san choi boi we’ve ever tried (as well as some seriously drool-worthy steamed kale, tempeh and apple dumplings).
The best part? You can add a three-course tea-infused cocktail service to take your brunch to a whole new level. We’re talking Spiced Peachy Tea to start, Chinese Sencha & Citron next, and Rose's G &Tea to finish. Oh, and they’re all served in totally Insta-worthy teapots, of course. If you’d prefer a Fijian Spiced Mojito, Citroen Basil Martini or Sweetwater Smash (think bourbon, lemon, blueberries and sage), or even a cheeky wine, they obvs have them too.
Whatever you order, don't go home without trying one (or five) of their delectable desserts—the salted peanut parfait with chocolate ice cream and butterscotch sauce is worth every calorie.
Perfect for your next Sunday session (there are regular DJs to bring all the vibes), mid-week date or Friday work drinks, Sweetwater Rooftop Bar is never a bad idea.
