The Verdict
The Norfolk Hotel has been much loved by Fremantle locals since it first opened under the name Oddfellows Hotel in 1887. These days, it offers a relaxed, beer garden atmosphere and some of the best damn pub grub this side of town.
There's nothing quite like grabbing a pint with your crew in the big and beautiful alfresco area, surrounded by limestone walls and leafy plants.
While you're at it, you really should try something from the special BBQ and Smoker menu available from Thursday to Sunday. The kitchen here has nailed the art of cooking low and slow and has quietly been cranking out some of Perth's finest smoked beef brisket. If you like a bit of everything though, we suggest you split a feasting board. It's packed to the brim with all the succulent meats you can handle, fresh outta their in-house smoker or bbq, along with tasty condiments, bread and salads. Throw on chips, because you know this beastly feast deserves at least one serve of potato too.
