The Verdict

The Resident in Nedlands is easily one of Perth’s most beautiful venues, featuring plenty of white on white, gorgeous arched windows, vaulted ceilings and a glorious boab tree in the beer garden out back.

The menu offers Mediterranean-style fare from share foods, pizzas and sides to bigger plates you can devour all by yourself. We can’t get enough of their arancini with mozzarella, thyme and hellfire sauce, prawn risotto with white wine, garlic and quinoa pangrattato, and their mushroom fritti with aged parmesan and garlic aioli. Oh, and they serve halloumi fries which are obviously a must.

Cocktails we love include the Boab Blossom (gin, elderflower, apple, lemon, sugar and soda), the Fremantle Nurse (vodka, mint, grapefruit, lime and grenadine) and the Aperol Your Way (choose between sour or spritz) which is the ultimate Sunday sesh drink!

The 20-odd beer taps feature boutique beers and they are pouring natural and organic white and red wines, but the pièce de résistance is the cocktail tap with delicious concoctions that change monthly. They’ve also got cider on tap and just about anything else you could ever be thirsty for.

Perched on the second floor (where a second bar awaits), a DJ spins all of the hottest new tracks on Sundays and the crew here throw plenty of parties and exciting events for all of you Perthlings to enjoy, speaking of which, this Saturday they'll be celebrating the hottest 100 with $5 pints, $8 cocktails, $5 loaded fries and $20 all you can eat sliders. Say whaaaaa?!
