18 Water Slides, 70 Wellness Rooms And More Than 20 Pools—Singapore’s New Wellness Hub Is Huge
Singapore's next blockbuster attraction is officially underway. Therme Singapore has broken ground at Marina South, paving the way for what will become Asia's first large-scale integrated urban wellbeing destination when it opens in 2030. Spanning more than 720,000 square feet (that's over nine football fields spread across seven levels), the massive new wellness hub is set to blend spa culture, waterpark thrills, lush gardens and family-friendly fun all under one roof.
The experience will be split into three dedicated zones, so whether you're chasing adrenaline or a full reset, there's something on the cards. Play is designed with families in mind, complete with children's pools, interactive water play areas and a whopping 18 water slides stretching more than 1.8 kilometres in total. Relax is where you'll find thermal pools, mineral baths, hydromassage beds and infrared therapy, while Restore is all about slowing down with saunas, steam rooms and wellness treatments across more than 70 treatment rooms.

Nature is just as big a focus as the wellness offering. Expect more than 20 indoor and outdoor pools and water attractions surrounded by over 200,000 plants from 200-plus species, including orchids and native Southeast Asian greenery. The development will also feature more than 86,000 square feet of dining and social spaces overlooking the waterfront, while a brand-new four-hectare public coastal park will connect the precinct to Marina Barrage, adding even more green space to Singapore's southern waterfront.
The tech behind the scenes is equally impressive. Visitors will use waterproof RFID wristbands to access lockers and make cashless payments, while advanced robotic locker systems and ozone-based water filtration promise a smoother, more sustainable experience. Sustainability has also been built into the project from the ground up, with solar panels, energy-efficient systems, climate-adaptive landscaping and smart irrigation all helping to reduce the destination's environmental footprint.
While you'll have to wait until 2030 to take the plunge, Therme Singapore is shaping up to be much more than just another spa. With an estimated 400 new jobs set to be created across hospitality, wellness and tourism, plus partnerships with local education providers to develop specialist skills, it's being pitched as a destination designed for both locals and visitors alike, and one that could redefine what a day of self-care in Singapore looks like.

Singapore’s about to level up its wellness game in a big way. Global wellbeing innovator Therme Group has been awarded the Singapore Tourism Board’s tender to create Asia’s first large-scale wellbeing destination—a jaw-dropping, $1 billion project that’ll rise along the Marina South coast. This will be Therme’s first-ever location in Asia, and it’s set to completely reimagine what urban relaxation looks like.
Spanning four hectares of prime waterfront next to Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, the sprawling destination will welcome around two million visitors a year once it’s fully operational. Half of them are expected to fly in just for the experience (and honestly, we get it). Designed as a full-scale "wellbeing infrastructure", the space will seamlessly blend water, nature, and architecture into one transformative playground for mind and body.

Therme Singapore will be more than a fancy spa, it’s being built as a holistic wellbeing hub that’s as sustainable as it is spectacular. Expect everything from thermal and mineral pools to lush botanical gardens, immersive art installations, and cutting-edge wellness tech. The concept is rooted in Therme’s core pillars of Water & Nature, Sustainability & Design, and Arts & Culture meaning you’ll be able to unwind in ways that feel restorative, inspiring, and totally unique.
To bring the project to life, Therme is teaming up with local architecture powerhouse DP Architects alongside its in-house design team, Therme ARC. Together, they’ll craft an environment that’s alive with energy yet deeply calming, a place where city dwellers can reconnect with themselves and with nature, right in the heart of Singapore. Advanced water recycling systems, sustainable energy solutions, and biophilic design will all play key roles in making the development as green as it is gorgeous.
According to the Singapore Tourism Board, this world-class wellness attraction will strengthen the city’s growing reputation as an urban wellness haven—one that nurtures physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. And with Therme’s impressive track record across Europe, it’s fair to say that Marina South’s newest landmark will be more than just a destination, it’ll be a movement towards making wellbeing part of everyday life.
