It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! From carols by candlelight, twilight markets and movie screenings under the stars, there is plenty to see and do (and eat) this festive season—here are 10 of our favourite Christmas events on the Sunshine Coast. It is, after all, the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas Carols

Get in the festive spirit the best way we know how—by kicking back and belting out your favourite Christmas carols at the top of your lungs. There are carols by candlelight events held across the region in December, most kicking off with twilight markets and concluding with fireworks, so there will be fun times all ‘round. Here are some of the main events—Peregian Beach Christmas Carols on 1 December from 3pm to 8pm at Peregian Beach Park; Carols at Cotton Tree on 7 December from 4.30pm to 8pm at Cotton Tree Park; Yandina Christmas Carols under the stars on 8 December from 6pm to 8.30pm at Yandina Historic House; Buderim Community Carols by Candlelight on 8 December from 6pm at Buderim Village Park; Coolum Christmas in the Park on 14 December from 7pm to 9pm at Jack Morgan Park; Carols on Kings on 14 December from 4.30pm to 8pm at Kings Beach Amphitheatre; Glasshouse Country Community Carols on 14 December from 4.30pm to 8.30pm at Beerwah Sports Grounds; and Noosa Carols by Candlelight on 15 December from 7pm to 9pm at Noosaville Lions Park.

Christmas In Eumundi

Christmas and shopping practically go hand-in-hand, and the local markets are among our fave places to score awesome gifts for our family and friends. The twice-weekly Eumundi Markets always have the goods, and they’re taking it up a notch for their annual Christmas In Eumundi twilight market. Munch on tasty international street food, while browsing the stalls, and checking out the entertainment. We’ve also been given the inside scoop that Santa will be arriving on the Eumundi Fire Truck at about 5.30pm, just in time for the Christmas Magic show at 7pm.
