The Sunshine Coast is set to get a huge new festival site that could signify the return of major festivals to Queensland. Located in Coochin Creek, just 35 minutes south of Maroochydore and one hour north of Brisbane, the 150-hectare Coochin Fields festival and camp site provides a mammoth space to offer large-scale camping festivals.
The development company behind Eatons Hill Hotel and Sandstone Point Hotel, the Queensland-based Comiskey Group, is the visionary behind this new site and hopes to host festivals reminiscent of Splendour In The Grass and Byron Bay Blues Festivals at this new location. The Comiskey Group has showcased the likes of Prince, Ice Cube, Rita Ora and Khalid at their various award-winning venues, so if that’s a sign of things to come, we’re certainly excited.
This exciting addition to the Sunshine Coast region will bring local, national and international artists back to the stage, signifying the return of the live music industry to Queensland.
