Meet Rosa Italian, Coolum’s New Amalfi Coast-Inspired Italian Restaurant

By – who always has time to go to breakfast, no matter how busy she is.

A slice of Southern Italy has landed in Coolum with the arrival of Rosa Italian, a fresh new venue from Maeva Hospitality, the crew behind the recently opened Bli Bli Hotel.

Combining the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean with the relaxed, breezy charm of an Australian beach town, the lush Italian spot will undoubtedly prove to be as popular as the award-winning hotel when it opens on Wednesday 25 September—and personally we can’t wait to check it out.

Step inside Rosa Italian, and you’ll find yourself transported to a sun-soaked Amalfi Coast setting, whether you’re dining in the airy, light-filled indoor space, enjoying a drink by the blue-and-white tiled bar or sitting outside under a striped umbrella enjoying the golden hues of a Coolum sunset.

The menu is just as inviting, boasting a curated selection of coastal Italian feeds. Start your feast with freshly baked woodfired bread dipped in confit garlic or rosemary salt and olive oil, before diving into share plates like arancini with tomato and basil aioli, or local prawns sizzling in garlic, chilli, and parsley olive oil.

Those with heartier appetites can order up mains like pappardelle with wood-roasted lamb, tomato ragu, and rosemary crumb, or the classic but elevated linguine with prawns, cherry tomatoes, chilli, garlic, and lemon olive oil. And of course, no Italian experience would be complete without wood-fired pizza—here you can slice up Margherita, Fungi, and a mouth-watering Capricciosa that’s sure to become a local fave.

Complementing the food is a killer cocktail menu, with options to please every palate, as well as a lengthy wine list of both Australian and international selections. Whether you're popping in for a casual mid-week dinner or planning a private function, Rosa Italian is designed to cater to every occasion.

Maeva Hospitality Director Scott Armstrong said the opening of Rosa Italian is a significant milestone for the group, following on from the huge success of the Bli Bli Hotel, which just picked up three accolades at the recent 2024 Queensland Hotels Association Awards.

"Coolum has always been a place we’ve admired for its vibrant community and stunning coastal environment, so to have a presence here feels like a perfect fit for our vision," said Scott.

"We want Rosa Italian to be a place where locals and visitors alike can come together, enjoy fantastic food, and make lasting memories.”

Opening its doors Wednesday through Sunday, Rosa Italian is set to become a must-visit Sunshine Coast eatery for locals and visitors alike. Soak up the sun, and sip on a spritz as you enjoy the flavours of the Mediterranean. Buon appetito.
