Get excited because the stellar crew at Solbar just opened a new taphouse and restaurant and we’re here to tell you all about it.

The Nautical is a new venue that focuses on local and seasonal products and produce—dishes are sourced as locally as possible from nearby farms and fisheries and all their beers come from Sunshine Coast breweries, which means we’re big fans already. Even the cocktails feature locally-distilled spirits and the wine list features loads of Aussie wines you’ll want to sample ASAP.

The Nautical menu is loaded with fresh-as-hell dishes, including your typical oysters, prawns, scallops and mussels but if you’re not feeling seafood-y, don’t fret: there are several mouthwatering burger options available, including a Wagyu burger, hanger sanga (yep, that’s a hanger steak sanga on rye toast with apple and pear chutney, served with truffle chips—yum!), or, for those of us who are meat-free, a crispy tofu karaage burger that’ll tick all the deliciousness boxes.

If you want something light, you can nosh on the likes of zucchini flowers, chips, tofu bites or chargrilled eggplant with miso glaze.

The venue decor is obviously nautical-inspired, but with a modern twist that gives it that youthful, energetic vibe we’ve come to expect from Solbar. Think white and navy blue accents mesh with the colourful neon-lit bar lighting, white tables and chairs and plenty of lush greenery to add to the ambiance.

And because it’s technically a taphouse, you can definitely expect a nice array of local beers to quench your thirst, including brews from Your Mates Brewing, Brouhaha, Glasshouse Brewery, Eumundi Brewery and loads more. Click here to book a table or check out their website, stat.
