Whether you love or loathe Valentine’s Day, it’s better to have some kind of game plan in mind for spoiling your significant other, rather than nothing at all.
To help you keep the love alive or make a lasting impression on a new special someone, we’ve scoped the best ways to spoil your love and spend Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast.
Seize The Clay At A Pottery Class
Naturally, the iconic pottery Swayze scene from Ghost springs to mind—and while you probably can’t get quite as supernatural or steamy at these awesome pottery classes on the Sunshine Coast, you will get to test your artistic skills, get a bit messy and, hopefully, take home some new crockery for the kitchen (platters, bowls, keep cups and teapots). This year for Valentine’s Day, The Pottery Studio have partnered with Buds of Buderim to bring you both a beautifully-crafted bouquet and a pottery voucher for two, delivered straight to your doorstep. For all the information, click here.
When: Flowers and voucher to be delivered on 13 February
Save Room For Dessert At Miss Moneypenny’s
Intimate setting, tables scattered with red chocolate hearts and a roving couple’s photographer, Miss Moneypenny’s is the place to head if you’re looking for a traditional way to show your love this Valentine’s Day. There are no set menus here, so you’ll get to feast like royalty from the full menu. Just make sure you save room for dessert—they’re offering two desserts for the price of one, and let’s just say we’re solid fans of their ice cream sandwich.
When: Friday 14 February
Cost: Price varies
Escape To The Rainforest At Spicers Tamarind
We can always count on The Tamarind to up the stakes when it comes to romance and great food. This Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast, this chef hatted Maleny restaurant is offering a two and three-course menu, bursting with way too many incredible dishes to choose from. With mains like slow-braised suckling pig with jungle flavours, pickled papaya, roasted peanuts and Asian herbs, and whole crispy fried fish, chilli, tamarind, wild ginger, three flavour sauce and roasted rice, we already know the struggle will be real when placing your order. Which is why we’re also impressed with Spicers Tamarind’s chef selection menu, where you’ll get five dishes landing in front of you, without having to stretch a decision-making muscle.
When: Friday 14 February
Cost: Two courses for $75, three courses for $85, chef’s selection is $110 + $75 paired with wines
Soak Up Sunset Views At Aimee Provence’s High Tea
How does a Sunset Valentine’s High Tea of warm scones, Gourmet canapés, French macarons and a glass of bubbly sound? Absolutely perfect. You may have a hard time distributing your gaze between the stunning coastal views, your date’s face and the picture-perfect treats, but the team at Aimee Provence promises an unforgettable evening. Working at night? They’re also offering two seatings during the day, with a slightly different but just as delicious menu.
When: Friday 14 February from 5.30pm (day seatings available at 11am and 1.30pm)
Cost: $78 per person
Paint And Sip Social At The Art Hub
For a date with a difference, get those creative juices flowing with a paint and sip class at Caloundra’s Art Hub where you’ll be painting your date, Picasso-style. To loosen the nerves, bring your own favourite drop of vino and be guided step-by-step by an Art Hub artist until you have a finished canvas ready for mounting. Making memories never felt so good. Spaces are limited, so make sure you reserve a spot asap.
When: Friday 14 February from 7pm
Cost: $90 per couple
Dig Into Epic Eats At Pitchfork
For all the choice a foodie could ever want, get yourself and your plus one to Pitchfork for their Valentine’s Day special. The set menu offers a glass of bubbles on arrival, plus three options each for entrée, main and dessert, so you’ll definitely find something that speaks to you. For our money, it’s the passionfruit roulade with Turkish Delight ice-cream and Persian fairy floss that makes our hearts sing!

Cost: $70 per person
Embrace Riding Solo At This Anti-Valentine’s Party
If you’re footloose and free this Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast, don’t lay about at home, hiding away from all the loved up events. The guys at The Dock in Mooloolaba are throwing an Anti-Valentine's Party with live music, cool DJ beats and a roving Polaroid photographer—to capture you embracing singledom with your mates, like you should.

Go Fancy At Spice Bar
Tell your date to put on something special, because a night at Spice Bar calls for more than just after-beach wear. This stunning venue is one of the best restaurants in Mooloolaba, serving up delectable Asian-inspired eats and out-of-this-world cocktails. This Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast, book a table for two and you’ll be whisked into foodie heaven with an eight-course menu, glass of champagne Bollinger and a red rose on arrival. It’ll be hard to beat this next year.
