One of Caloundra’s most iconic accommodation spots, Motel Caloundra has just reopened after a complete transformation and it’s emerged as a stylish boutique escape with the aim to be the Sunshine Coast’s first net-zero energy hotel.
Situated centrally in the heart of Caloundra’s arts and culture precinct, Motel Caloundra boasts nine sophisticated rooms and is decked out with luxe interiors—lush king beds, modern finishings, and outdoor balconies—that will have you wanting to never leave your room.
If you happen to emerge, you’re just across the road from the Events Centre and the future $37 million Sunshine Coast Regional Gallery, or jump on a complimentary bike or scooter and explore the plethora of nearby cafes.
Brought to life by Andrew and Lucy Pink (the maestros behind Loea Boutique Hotel and the heritage Maleny Lodge) and Maeva Hospitality’s Scott Armstrong, Motel Caloundra is seriously levelling up the Sunshine Coast’s eco-accommodation game.
Through the installation of a rooftop solar panel bank, the boutique motel aims to be able to operate via a solar and battery system, making it powered by purely renewable energy sources and the Sunshine Coast's first net-zero energy hotel.
“Scott and I have gone out of our way to make the hotel a model of sustainability, given the Sunshine Coast’s commitment to sustainability and its UNESCO biosphere status,” said Andrew Pink.
