Hire These Euro-Style Picnic Boats To Cruise Around Sydney This Summer

By Jessica Best

The boat vibes are very real this summer in Sydney so get set for all the water adventures. In a massive first for Sydney, you’ll now be able to whip around the city’s waterways and secret coves in Euro-style picnic boats from GoBoats. If you’ve never heard of GoBoats, let us enlighten you.

Originally established in Denmark in 2014 on the Copenhagen Harbour, GoBoat first launched in Australia on Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin, before hitting up Brisbane’s Brisbane River, and Melbourne’s Yarra River, and the Gold Coast too, where more than 100,000 people have jumped aboard for a unique way to explore these cities.

Finally, the speed-limited boats have launched in Sydney just in time for summer, and let’s just say, you’ll want to book sooner rather than later.

Each Euro-style boat seats up to eight people and features a communal recycled timber picnic table and sunshade for protection. The eco-friendly boats are constructed from fibreglass using recycled PET bottles and are powered by state-of-the-art electric motors so you can skrrt skrrt around rivers and coves.

The best part is—you don’t even need a boat license to drive these, so anyone can make like Captain Jack Sparrow.

Sydney’s GoBoat adventures are starting at D’Albora Marina, 138 Cabarita Road, Cabarita. This means you’ll be able sail along the Parramatta River from Cabarita Point all the way to Cockatoo Island.

Bookings can be made right here.
