Kick Start Your New Year With This 4-Week Wellness Challenge In Surry Hills

By

Many of us charge into January with big, ambitious fitness goals, but the "new year, new me" mindset can be unsustainable and see healthy habits abandoned before February rolls around.

To combat this, in 2025 we've made a long-term health and wellness pact with the newest gym to hit Surry Hills, The Foundation.

Doing the heavy lifting, these newbies to the Bourke Street block are hosting Foundations For Life—an epic wellness challenge helping Sydney locals feel physically and mentally better and inspiring them to kick-start their fitness routine for good.

Forget hectic gym classes that leave you crashing and burning fast; this educational challenge is about looking at health and wellbeing holistically and giving you the tools to make proper change.

Building The Foundations

Combining sports science and practical experience, The Foundation’s crew have created a program of classes designed to help you build physical strength and fitness, sleep better and increase your overall mobility. Great mates and business partners Jace Brown and AY Rosha are firm believers in the power of potential, and this dynamic duo’s goal is to help people move, think, feel, and live better, for longer.

Four-Week Kick-Start Challenge

To launch into the new year and their new area code, Foundations For Life is The Foundation’s four-week challenge designed to help you create deliberate and healthy habits that last a lifetime. So, whether you’re looking to level up your fitness or are just getting started, with a new focus each week, The Foundations For Life four-week challenge ticks all the boxes.

Here’s a bit of what to expect.

Week 1: Nutrition & Movement

Kicking off with a foodie chat led by nutrition expert and clinical naturopath Anthia Koullouros, this week is all about dialling into your nutrition, pairing back processed foods and transforming your health from the inside out.

Week 2: Sleep & Restoration

Want to improve your sleep in 2025? Focusing on sleep and restoration, week two will explore science-based approaches to reducing stress responses, and natural hormone profiling and sleep hygiene. Trust us, after this one, you will become a firm believer that sleep truly is the best medicine.

Week 3: Resilience Challenges

Serving as a great reminder that you can, in fact, do hard things, week three is your chance to enter a zone of voluntary discomfort with the aim of strengthening what The Foundation team has named the inner warrior. As for the challenges themselves? You’ll just have to wait, but the team has assured us you'll finish feeling amazing.

Week 4: Mindset And Sustainable Change

Anyone who's tried running will know that mental resilience is just as important (if not more important) than physical. The Foundation team will use week four to remind us that the mind doubles as an athlete. Get ready to learn top-tier mind hacks from the field of sports psychology and behavioural science and to reflect on the month that was to set your sights on the year ahead.

From February 5 you can also expect the arrival of additional challenges, workshops, Pilates classes, and a mid-week morning run club. Free for all members, and at just $300 a pop for non-members, this new year challenge—equipped with unlimited classes, app access, special events, saunas, and cold plunges—is a no-brainer to set you up for a better year.
