Bar Julius is a Euro-inspired neighbourhood bar by Liquid & Larder (the group behind iconic Sydney venues The Gidley, Bistecca, The Rover and Alfie’s) in The EVE Hotel Sydney within Redfern's Wunderlich Lane precinct.

Bar Julius’ continental dining menu offers breakfast staples with a playful twist, bistro-style dishes, and a world-class wine and cocktail list. Seating 100, the Redfern bar blends European elegance with Australian charm with burgundy, marble, and leather accents, while bold patterns and artwork (including a feature piece by second-generation Sydney artist Louise Olsen) infuse modern energy.

The breakfast includes freshly baked pastries and classics like a French omelette elevated with optional smoked salmon, caviar or ham. For a cheeky treat, try the Pear of the Dog: a boozy pear sorbet on a brioche bun. Later on, options include freshly shucked oysters paired with a fizzy bloody shiraz spritz, a crab salad with salt-baked kohlrabi, or the signature Bar Julius burger.

The cocktail list includes decadent delights such as the Crystal mimosa spritzed tableside with orange spray to add flavourful character. A seasonal cocktail list, including a Sticky Date Martini and the Bar Julius Highball crafted with an exclusive Bar Julius X Archie Rosse Tailored Single Malt Whiskey, echoes the fun and creative menu.

The carefully curated wine selection will take you on a cultural and historical journey through emerging, lesser-known regions and varieties to experience the elegance and richness of Europe, emphasising sustainability and tradition. 

Accepting walk-ins only adds to the bar’s laissez-faire charm–where the ‘no laptops after 5pm policy’ ensures you fully enjoy your experience—European style. Happy hour runs daily from 4pm to 5pm offering $2 oysters, a $250 half-bottle of Krug with complementary caviar, a $15 Bar Julius hot dog, $12 Negronis and $6 Tanqueray gin and tonics.
