Felons Seafood Brings Australia’s Coldest Beer And Freshest Catches To Manly Wharf

By: Ilaria Sanzari

Letting in the sea breeze, Felons Seafood is now open on Manly Wharf, welcoming guests to dine on freshly caught Australian fish and the country’s coldest lager.

Playing a role in the revitalisation of Manly Wharf, “our hope was to create something that feels true to Manly—a relaxed, welcoming space where people can enjoy fresh local seafood and take in the beauty of the harbour,” says Adam Flaskas of Artemus Group, which operates the original Felons Brewing Co. on Brisbane's Howard Smith Wharves, and the Sydney location on Manly Wharf, which opened in late 2024.

With seafood caught locally and produce grown just as closely, Luke Bourne—The Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Chef of the Year 2025—brings his experience and Indigenous Palawa heritage to the Northern Beaches restaurant’s menu. Working alongside acclaimed chef Corey Costelloe, Luke's menu is produce-driven, meaning there's always new dishes and exciting twists depending on what fish has just been caught.

Aussie classics like Sydney rock oysters, old-school fish and chips and a prawn cocktail sit alongside a touch of the Mediterranean with dishes of vongole pizza and pasta served with sweet banana prawns. Elevated snacks include an abalone schnitzel sandwich with salted chilli mayo, or beer-battered potato scallops with crab remoulade, and there are share-friendly chilled platters (piled with king prawns, Sydney Rock oysters, tuna tartare, honey bug cocktail, and lemongrass pipis) and large plates like Queensland mud crab with black pepper and curry leaf sauce.

An extension of Felons Brewing Co., the space features four massive stainless steel beer tanks and a 360-degree bar pouring the goods—including the country’s coldest lager at -2°C, the Felons Super Cold Crips Lager. With pilsner malt, a slow fermentation, and an ultra-smooth finish, it's the perfect accompaniment to the salt, citrus, and rich fish flavours on the menu.

While it neighbours the brewery, those who don't opt for a beer aren't left out with a curated wine list with options ranging from the Hunter Valley all the way to Santorini and even central Europe, and cocktail highlights like citrusy Sunrise spritzes, or a Salt & Vinegar Martini with oyster shell gin, caperberry brine and chardonnay vinegar.

With 300 seats that extend outside for serene views of the harbour at sunset, Felons Seafood brings the ocean right to your table.

“This picturesque location is the perfect backdrop for what we see as a new spiritual home for Felons,” says Felons brand director Dean Romeo, “a space that champions simplicity, fresh Australian seafood, and our passion for great beer.”

Felons Seafoos is open seven days a week from 11.30am until late—you can book a table online.
