Mister Grotto

Opening in early 2025, Mister Grotto will be a seafood restaurant and bar in the Australia Street precinct by Paisano & Daughters (who are behind Continental Deli, and launching two more restaurants plus boutique accommodation in their historic row of Newtown shops).

With a front seafood bar for oyster shucking and crudo prepping plus a full kitchen turning out charcoal-grilled seafood dishes, Mister Grotto will be a celebration of all things oceanic. The menu will change as often as daily to account for the market’s best available seafood and, while the head chef is yet to be announced, we do know that acclaimed pastry chef Lauren Eldridge will contribute to the menu as the group's new head of pastry.

Mister Grotto will be open for dinner seven nights, and lunch on weekends. It will neighbour all-day vegetarian venue Flora, old-school Italian restaurant Osteria Mucca, and boutique short-term accommodation Australia Street Suites.
